THE EAGLE
The eagle flew Into the valley
A symbol of freedom. The freedom of the wild.
And the wind said. Let the eagle
fly
The eagle flew with his outstretched wings
Beating against the wind. As through the ages before.
And the wind said.
Let the eagle fly
A symbol of freedom. Freedom from the fear
Of man and the gun, and the steel death
And the wind said. Let the eagle
fly
But from the valley below a hunter raised his gun
To shoot steel death at the soaring eagle
And the wind said. Let
the eagle fly
The steel death touched the soaring eagle
And brought him to earth from the sky he ruled
And the wind said. Let the
eagle fly
He fell, but death was not yet his fate
With courage born of the wild he flew back to the sky
And the wind said.
Let the eagle fly
And the eagle flew out of the valley
A little wiser about the ways of man
And the wind said. Let the eagle fly
